
Through the history of chocolate, we dive into major themes of the pre-Columbian era, colonization, the introduction and expansion of chocolate in Europe, and the cultural changes it sparked. In the practical part of the workshop, we recreate the original chocolate recipe of the Mayas and Aztecs and the current recipe.
Key curricular competencies: Citizenship competence, based on the understanding of social, economic, legal, and political concepts and structures, as well as on the knowledge of world events and the analysis of data and ideas related to the social and historical dimension.
The activity includes tasting. In case of food allergies, it is necessary to communicate them at booking.
The activity includes a free visit to the museum before or after the workshop.
The activity can be complemented with a guided tour of the museum’s permanent exhibition (supplement 5€ per student).
